Volunteering for Kolbe Prison Ministries
Please prayerfully consider becoming actively involved in KPM by participating as a team member. There is also a need for volunteers to attend and help with RCIA/OCIA classes, Bible studies, Communion services, prison retreat reunions and more. A number of men and women who initially dragged their feet and reluctantly volunteered as a retreat team member found the ministry to be very uplifting and rewarding… and they became repeat volunteers.
Additional volunteer opportunities exist for those not interested in serving within a prison facility, such as letter writing, inventory management, meal preparation volunteers, church coordinators, and so on.
How about you?
There are volunteer requirements by the pertinent Catholic diocese (typically Safe Environment certification which may be mandatory) and by the state department of corrections (DOC). It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that all volunteers complete the DOC volunteer training and keep their training up-to-date. For links to the volunteer info for the various states, click the buttons below.
